They say "Lowther
for life" ... certainly this is one of the best loudspeaker
in the world.
The sound is somethig
un explainable, you must hear to tell...
But beware:
you'll suffer a lot for :
- easy room positioning due to lateral mounth emission
- very low cutoff frequency (with a test cd you can easy listen to 40hz)
- they are the most difficult project we've seen....
This cabinet
has been designed by Victor Meurisse.
More details can be found at www.lowther.com
The original plans are currently being published by the Italian rewiew Costruire HI-FI, starting from the #39 issue.
We've collected here some photos taken during all the building process, trying to highlight the most critical moments, hoping this will help all the DIY'ers that will embrace this great adventure.
This couple of speakers
are owned by my best friend Andrea.... so thank him not me for the photos
;)
.
WARNING THE PHOTOS ARE BIG!!! SO PREPARE TO WAIT.
It's very important
to study for long time the project, even if there are a lot of measures,
the number you need it's always lost.
It's very useful
to draw all the profiles on the wood using a pencil and test the pieces
of wood before gluing..
We're too busy ....
we're completely ipnotized by the suond...
